Promises
People make promises every day – to each other, to ourselves and even to God. But more often than not, circumstances may stop us from keeping them, or we change our minds about them, or find it too difficult to keep our commitments.
For these reasons the promises we make to each other are often taken with ‘a grain of salt’, with little expectation that they’ll actually be followed through with. But the Bible tells us that this is different with God’s promises. In an uncertain world, God’s promises should give us assurance and stability. God’s promises are not mere words, but are life giving and comforting.
In this series we’ll explore some of the promises Jesus makes to us. As Christians, these promises should be our greatest source of confidence and trust – words we can lean on in times of doubt and hardship.
As we explore these promises, we will be challenged to believe them, live by them and walk by faith in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
